Today's giveaway: The Gentle Art of Domesticity, by Jane Brockey.
Topic for today's comment: What is your favorite domestic task? Ironing? Laundry? Cleaning your oven? None of the above? (I would fall into the latter category, although ironing is rather Zen and I do love to hang my laundry outside on the line.) Remember - cut off for entry is midnight tonight!
Wait. Did I forget something? Nah. I just decided to create some suspense -- Winner of Day #1 is....
LindaCO! Send your mailing info to swomersley at gmail dot com. Congrats!!
Congrats to LindaCO! My most favorite form of domestic tasks consist of making FOOD! Can't you tell from my supple backside?
ReplyDeleteBut don't include me in the drawing today, I'm holding out for the other ones! :)
CR - If your backside is still supple, you haven't been eating enough....;-)
DeleteMy favorite task is cooking/baking, but I also really enjoy splitting wood. It gets me outside, fresh air, and it's good exercise.
ReplyDeleteKristina - Now there is a domestic job you don't find in every household!
DeleteBelieve it or not, I enjoy laundry :)
ReplyDeleteJenyfer - Actually, I DO believe it!
DeleteMy favorite task would be decorating/organizing! Yes, I'm going to classify that as housework, since I'm not that fond of the daily drudgery LOL!
ReplyDeleteErin - Since you do all this decorating/organizing in your house, it would, indeed, be classified as 'housework'. Amen.
DeleteI try to avoid my domestic duties with a vengenance but they keep coming at me. I am a "Would rather be....." person. Cooking for my family is the one thing I really enjoy doing ☺
ReplyDeleteKelly - I am there with you on the "would rather be..."
DeleteCongrats to LindaCO! My most favorite form of domestic tasks consist of... fill the washing machine!! :)
ReplyDeleteBarbara - I love the bee! I would be on the 'fill the hamper' end.
DeleteI'm going to hold out for other books as well. This one looks too "Martha Stewart" to fit my life, which is on the "spare but dusty" side. ;-)
ReplyDeleteMichelle - I can relate to the 'dusty' side, but am still working on the 'spare'. Life will be so much nicer when I tackle that.
Delete"Spare" only applies to my decorating touches -- NOT to the amount of stuff or clutter, unfortunately! Ugh.
DeleteWahooooo! Thanks, Susan. I'll send my info straightaway.
ReplyDeleteLinda - I hope you get as much use out of it as I do out of my copy! It's going out in today's post.
DeleteI LOVE to cook. (That's probably because I LOVE to eat. hehehe)
ReplyDeleteSFG - That seems to be a favorite here....

Gail - An honest answer!
DeleteCooking and hanging out washing
ReplyDeleteCongrats to LindaCO!! :)
ReplyDeleteI think my favorite domestic art is sewing with baking a very close second.
Bhahahaha!!!! What's ironing?
ReplyDeleteDomestic hu? I never really considered myself that. A farmer/wife/mom is really what I would call myself. But if I had to say the word again, I would say cooking/baking!
