Worried that I might drag out the
pink tutu for the occasion.
Four years ago on April 9, a Nervous Nellie, slip of a girl dog was delivered to my doorstep. She spent the next year in a state of anxiety, until she finally realized that she was home. She is silly, sweet, gentle and loving. I adore her. They had steak last night to celebrate (a day late as her absent-minded mother forgot to take it out to thaw. Pfft.) Here's to many, many more years together.
Heavens, no! I had commented on the perfect condition of Fiona's Jersey cow on her blog - she's a perfect 5! My vet always says my sheep are very...fluffy.
Sounds like Lilly next door. Adopted by my son/family.... She had so many fears... Discovered along the way... She was totally afraid of my husband... Some older man must have abused her. But with treats, and quiet, she accepted him.
Another thing was hats!!!! A man in a baseball hat, scared her. So both grandfathers had to remove their baseball hats. :-)
My dear Bernie was like that - snow, wind, rain, thunder, lightning, a fire in the fireplace. Men, women, beards, children...it was unending, poor dear.
Oh, so sweet!!! Happy Adoptoversary!!! :) I love that video, that's how Stella and Pavlov play, but much rougher, a little too rough sometimes! May you all have many happy and healthy years together! :) Shelter dogs RULE!!! :)
Four years already?! How old do you guess Lovey to be?
In their tussling, looks to me like Lovey is the lover and Peanut is the fighter. Loved when Peanut jumped right on top of Lovey.
Let's leave the talking about being "well-conditioned" or "fluffy" to our animals, okay? No need to discuss our own . . . um, uh, robustness! ;o) (Speaking for myself, of course.)
Those front high whites make me smile every time I see them. What a lucky Lovey indeed and the Butter Pat too. Here's to many, many more Adoptaversaries!
Adoptaversaries are the best.
ReplyDeleteYes, they are.
DeleteSo cute; Happy Adoptiversary, Lovey!
ReplyDeleteThank you (on her behalf), Michelle! xo
DeleteNothing like a good tussel with a friend. Lovey looks awesome. And Peanut....Dairy condition score....hummn 5😊 [it's out of 5]
ReplyDeleteYou and Ralph are the BEST!
DeleteFiona are you saying Lovey is f-a-t? My vet always was gentle "your goats are over conditioned". Nuff said.
DeleteHeavens, no! I had commented on the perfect condition of Fiona's Jersey cow on her blog - she's a perfect 5! My vet always says my sheep are very...fluffy.
DeleteHappy Love Lovey Day! They do choose us don't they?
ReplyDeleteYes, ma'am, they do!

Poor things.... -sigh-

DeleteI can imagine you getting dog-piled as soon as you sit down. :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Adoptoversary!
You imagine correctly. Peanut is like a heat-seeking missile!
