Every day is Earth Day.

And so it should be.  I was around when the first Earth Day was celebrated and I took it to heart.  Our precious planet is a finite space becoming more and more challenged by our (not ALL of us, thank goodness) complete disregard for it's health and well-being.  If I would ever lose my mind and get a tattoo, it would read:  Love the Earth.

Let's try, every single day, to do something kind for the Earth and for each other.

Yes! Well said. And please keep your sanity. We don't need any more tattooed babes in the world.
(I do believe I'm the ONLY gal in MI that doesn't have one)

Sue - I don't know where I'd put it anyway.... :)

A lovely post, Sweezie. Sometimes I think my actions don't matter when I see the way our planet continues to be abused, but each of us taking care of our little plot in the Universe, and conscientiously being kind to each other does add up.

I know it's just my opinion, and even though those who have tattoos maintain it expresses who they are, I still think it's terribly disfiguring. Why not let your personality and beliefs express who you are?

Dear OTFD - While I am inexplicably drawn to tattoos (the artist in me), the thought of decorating myself leaves me cold. Plus, if I tattoo "Love the Earth" on the wrong part of my body, in just a few years it will be "Lotarth". Snort.

Happy Earth Day! I try every day to do something for our Mother...she's the only one we have. Enjoy the day!!! Too cold here to plant something (we had snow yesterday)...

Happy Earth day! I was just outside to get some shallots for the roast taters I am putting in Ralph's lunch. It is a bit cool but the birds are singing and it is getting so green, the sky is a brilliant blue, the little blue weeds in the lawn are blooming like mad and the beauty of it all is such a delight...even here in this small town.

I am like you....the art part is fascinating but I am glad I do not have one...the way people tattoo and what they put on their skin and where is disturbing to me. Old fashioned tattooless woman here!

Happy Earth Day to you too! Alas, I have done nothing "special" for it today. But the day is not over yet! Gonna see what earth-friendly things we can do outside, gonna grab the kiddo & go back outside.
Oh, and I have a tattoo. It's a fluffy black kitty smoking a pipe, wearing a fidora while riding a unicycle underneath a rainbow and storm cloud raining turnips. Want me to post a picture of it?

OMG, it didn't occur to me it was Earth Day. I should look at the calendar more often. But then, like you say, I think of every day as Earth Day.

Regarding your tattoo, I don't believe you for a minute. You're gonna have to show me!
