She got all the tall genes. |
Jazzing up the deck. |
Thinking outside of the box. |
Curried mussels. |
Arroyo con Pollo with refried beans |
Picked all the red currants
Finished (if only that were possible) weeding the garden
Picked the peas
Painted the coop
Fixed the duck ramp
Painted (almost - ran out of paint) the deck chairs
Painted the deck tables
Cleaned out the duck tub
Vacuumed
Dusted (you KNOW it wasn't me)
Cleaned surfaces (ditto)
Drank champagne
Drank BLUE champagne
Ate lunch OUT (a big deal for me...)
Shopped - (where I - brace yourself, girls - bought 3 new bras!)
Cooked
Ate like royalty
Talked
Laughed
And Scrappy was brushed to a glossy finish.
Speaking of dogs, Lovey and The Pepperoni (aka Ankle Velcro) were both quite bereft when she left. They are still subdued.

It's always more fun with two, too. Good for you for having such a great sister and helper.
Ummm . . . when can I book her??
Sounds like your girls ARE braced; hee!
So glad you had your sister's company and help. Bless her.
Um........may I borrow her for a day or two??
Ha-I'll bet you guys had a blast AND you got a lot done. Nice!
i wish my sister was anything like that! you are so lucky!
oh Susan - i am sooo very glad that you got to spend time with your sister!!! "force of nature" is a term i have only heard my jambaloney say about me so your sister must be something else...but then you are something else. sooo many jobs off the to-do list - what are you gonna do for the rest of the summer - bahahahahah! i am just glad that you spent some time with your sister and enjoyed talking out loud to someone other than yourself - bahahahah! (oh i kill me sometimes!)!
sending much love! your friend,
kymber
Karren - You are so right! I have so much fun with both of my sisters.
Mama Pea - Well, hope you're not in a hurry. She's booked through 2020... :)
Michelle - There is nothing like sharing a bottle of sparkling wine at the end of a busy and fulfilling day!
Sue - I tell you, she could easily rent herself out. She has a great sense of design, too - not to mention artistic and musical talent. She's the whole package!
Jaz - Yes, I am. Both of my sisters are good sports and always there when I need them. They are the best!
kymber - It really does make me feel more...sane...to speak out loud to an actual person! I have TONS more things on my to-do list, but we checked off a bunch! xo
Champagne! You gals have style. Thanks for the calming words re the pups, just what I needed.
How fun! I find having some helpful (and fun) company a huge moral boost.
Susan - It is a ritual with us - that, and lobster. This time we made mussels (okay, SHE made mussels - I poured). Glad to help - young dogs that have been bounced around take time to find their groove. But they will!
TCSL - I was happy and exhausted by Sunday evening. It is so much better to have someone to work with! (And I am so sad that I cannot comment on your blog...but I am there - sending comments via ESP. Has Betsy been picking up the radio waves?)
what a wonderful time you had....the duck ramp is so cool. I lived alone a long time and your right about talking to yourself. It is the best to have someone human on the receiving end of a conversation....maybe I should qualify that the right kind of person! Keep well and know your a force of nature in your own right too!
It's great to have that extra help!
Oh, I'm so glad you had a wonderful visit with your sister. I'm jealous.
