The vet came last night and helped her on to a more peaceful journey. So, as I said goodbye to my dear girl, I imagined that a bright, sunlit meadow full of lush, green grass was waiting to say hello to her. Aloha, Flora. I will miss you something awful.

Wish you were close enough to give you a half glass of good wine and a big hug. (Well, maybe we could wait until tonight for the wine.)
The hardest kindness . . . I'm so sorry for your pain.
So sorry :(
Susan,
I am so sorry to hear this. Pets & friends are sometimes one in the same & it's hard to say goodbye.
{{HUGS}} to you dear Susan.
Sorry.
I just love your new quote on the blog by Joel Salatin, btw!!
I'm glad you helped her cross peacefully and gently. Hugs, I know it's so tough...
I'm sorry to hear, but I think you did the right thing for her and at just the right time before winter gets harsh and makes things more uncomfortable for her.
I'm sorry to hear about ol' fluffy butt, but these are the realities of farming / having pets . . . as you know. Still doesn't make it any easier, tho. :(
I'm so sorry! We just had to put down our 18 year old cat, Lucy, so I feel your pain.
