It's Blue!! It's Good!!

It's Apple Blueberry Pie Sauerkraut!!!  And they said it couldn't be done....


I will admit to some trepidation - after all, this is my first foray into
fermented foods.  But, Eureka!  Good thing I like it - there are three half-gallon
Mason jars of it in my fridge.

    1. Michelle - It tastes like rather mild sauerkraut with occasional muted bursts of sweetness. It's hard to describe, but good.

  3. That sounds interesting...even good. I love sauerkraut and I like blueberries. I've been hearing more and more about how we're lacking fermented/live foods in our diets and how good they are for us. I want to look for recipes and try some. Did you get this recipe from a book or online?

    1. ATO - I found it in Taproot Magazine. I will post the recipe tomorrow or Thursday - it's very easy, which is great since this is my first time fermenting anything.

  4. Well it looks wonderful and very Christmasy. [Is that a word] I have fermented a few things...not intentionally! I look forward to the recipe...how long will it store?
