Jinxes and Tassels.

I had been going on ad nauseum about how much better Lovey was, now that she had someone to play with.  She seemed like she was getting past her separation anxiety issues - she really did.

Sigh.

Granted, my barn shoes are on their last legs - but at least they had legs.  This is the first time that Lovey has actually damaged something - she usually shows her distress by shredding paper here and there.  Good thing I wasn't gone for more than 20 minutes or I would have been one-shoed.  I will just have to live with the duct tape until next summer.  And Lovey will have to be crated every time I leave.  I'm glad she's so good about it - she trots right into her crate and only gets a little stubborn if I have to crate her more than twice a day.

Tassels!  My popcorn has tassels!  I would have taken a picture of it, but they are waaay over my head.  Aside - I am always so surprised to find out I am not six feet tall.  I have always envisioned myself as a very tall person.  While I wouldn't classify myself as vertically challenged, I am shortish.  Dang.

I have never grown corn and I am so excited about the possibility of having my own popcorn.  If it does actually form ears, I plan to put in a 6x6 plot next year.  Where is another story.

Oh Lovey; your new mommy loves you and would NEVER leave you forever!

Michelle - Isn't that the truth! She is the most loving dog I have ever known. I love her to pieces.

My corn's tassel's aren't even 3 ft off the ground, I'm sure. Either I am a giant or they are just sad.

I do corn very year, but haven't tried popcorn. Please let us know how it pops. Also how long you have to dry it. I would love to try it next year.

Popcorn! I've never grown popcorn. (Heck, I have trouble growing any kind of corn.) If yours is successful, that means you can eat as much popcorn all winter as you want, right?

As for your barn shoes, at least it wasn't a pair of your Manolo Blahniks. HAHAHAHAHA!

We planted popcorn for the first time this year - black non-gmo/heirloom popcorn. I can't wait to harvest and try it too.

TM - It ain't the quantity, it's the quality. Or so they say! I am hoping that mine are not all (s)talk and no action... :)

Michelle - I will, indeed. I am hoping for even a few ears. I LOVE popcorn.

Mama Pea - I just snorted my afternoon tea. Oh, yes, indeed. Miss Lovey better lay off the stilettos... I do love popcorn in the winter. With loads of butter, of course.

Kristina - This is calico, a non-gmo type as well. If yours does better than mine, I'll try it next year.

Oops! Darn dog! It is a good thing that Lovey will get in her crate a reasonable number of times a day. Hopefully she'll still improve over time.

Yea for popcorn!!

I can see high fashion becoming your thing! Stiletto barn shoes would aerate the ground! ;)

Linda - Yes, "Darn dog" is approximately what I said when I discovered the damage... :)

Fiona - HA! You know, that is probably the only reason I would wear stilettos... :)
