Something Every Homesteading Girl Should Have.

And it can be yours......

because I am Spring Cleaning - and cheating, because I'm starting with my bookcases.  Those are so (relatively) easy!  This covers everything from making rock candy, to darning a sock, to milking a cow.  A very fun and (lightly) informative read!   I am giving away my pristine copy to one of you already-multi-talented homesteady gals.  Just leave me a comment - and tell me the one skill you would like to have that you don't already.  The give-away ends Sunday night -- the winner will be chosen and announced on Monday.  Bonne chance!

As for me, I think that every homesteading girl should have a matched team of Belgians.  But, that's just me...

Please put me down for a chance at your book. I want to start canning again - long ago we did it just once and quit after jars exploded sending hot peaches and glass all over the kitchen. Would also like to learn to knit, make soap and bake a better pie. Thanks for the chance to learn!

A matched team of Belgians...AND the barn to put them in! Count me in dear neighbor, there's bound to be a skill or two that book can teach me.

Oh, my -- what a lovely book! I just Googled the title and it looks like a fun read! Out of those 50 things, I'm sure there are about 40 that I'd like to learn, but close to the top would be make a braid rug. I've heard it's easy -- but I haven't made one yet.
Thanks for offering a great giveaway!

Oh, I want the Belgians!!! I've always wanted those!! As for my skill- I have never managed to master knitting. I actually think I'm going to try it left handed next time to see if that makes the difference. Learning to knit has been my on and off again winter project and I have failed miserably. But the left handed thing- I'm one of those bizarre people who do some things right handed and some left. Maybe I'm just meant to be a lefty knitter. I figure at this point it's worth a try! I can't fail any worse!

There are many things I don't know how to do; I'm sure this book could teach me several! (I don't think making rock candy is an essential skill, but it sounds like fun.)

Please count me in! I'd love to learn how to do a braided rug....especailly since our rugs around here take a beating & we tend to go through them often. Although I have to admit, when I saw the title of the book, I immediately though of my sister, who is still a city-slicker, but whom I'm gradually introducing to the whole homesteading thing....and I would give the book to her (after I read it, of course!).

I just saw a post on a pair of hand-knitted socks and that's something I'd love to learn... Plus mules... I'd love to learn about mules (which mean's I have to have one, right? Please tell my hubby that.) I'd love to win this book!

I THINK MAYBE I HAVE THE MOST NEED FOR THIS SINCE I CAN'T DO ANYTHING BUT THEN IT MIGHT BE A WASTE ON ME LOL

I hear there is a whole section for the barn, I think that might be the most useful to me, since when we move this month I will finally have one! (A Barn, that is!) I also heard there is a part on learning to predict the weather. I've always been interested in learning more about that. :) I would love this book!!

Please include me in the drawing for your book. I can crochet and knit, but sewing has always eluded me...even buttons are a challenge!! Thank you!

Hi Susan - I've finished reading your archives, and love the life you've chosen. I knit, crochet, sew, bead and do lots more crafts than that. I've been baking my own bread, and making my own laundry soap, but I know there are many, many more things I'd love to learn. Please put my name in the hat.
You will definitely be hearing more from me. Thank you for the give away.

Woot! I will have to tackle my DIY shelf first, I see. This job may be too big for Scrappy "The Paw"!

Sign me up! I have this one on my "wish list" at amazon, glad you liked it, I was kind of waiting on someone else to give it the thumbs up LOL

I would LOVE two Belgians. Otherwise, there are a LOT of things that I need to learn to do, but I'm determined to learn how to pressure can. I do a lot of water-bath canning, but I want to be able to put away veggies in my pantry instead of just my freezer. This book looks great. My fingers are crossed.
