A Random Act of Kindness.

When I got home from work on Thursday to quickly do my chores and head to the rabies clinic, I found a surprise package in the mailbox!  I think we all get a little shiver of excitement and pleasure when there is something in our mailbox that a) is not a bill, ad, catalogue or other junk and b) has a REAL stamp on it!

Here's what was inside:

I tell you, it almost killed me to leave that package and go to the clinic.  THEN I had to wait until the light was better so I could photograph it ... agony... then I opened it!

Just who do we know who is so talented and thoughtful?  Hmmm?  Yes, ma'ams -- Mama Pea!  These photographs don't do justice to either her beautiful and clever packaging or the potholders themselves.  I have considered putting them between glass and framing them.  A very thoughtful, lovely and much appreciated gift.  xoxoxo

Those are BEAUTIFUL!! Almost a shame to use them as potholders, eh?

Carolyn - I don't dare - my potholders are rigorously abused. I just have hung them on a hook so I can look at them.

beautiful-I also got some red ones from my son FOR MY BIRTHDAY TOM. ANOTHER ONE-THEY COME-THEY GO-BUT NOTHING IS APPRECIATED MORE THAN SEETHING SO LOVELY FROM A FRIEND-IF ANY ONE ASKS I'LL BE SPENDING MY BIRTHDAY AT MY USUAL HANGOUT

You had best NOT not use them! They are potholders, for heaven's sake. Use them, abuse them, they wash well. If you use them you can see them (and enjoy them?) every time you pick up a pot or slide something out of the oven. You are so silly. I wanna see a picture of them in a month with proven use on them!

You lucky girl you!!! I knew they were from Mama Pea as soon as I saw the picture - I remember her working on them.

I'd be tempted to NOT use them either, but you've had your orders.

They are beautiful! And I think that if you look up "kind" in the dictionary, there is a picture of a lady laying in a garden plot. Just saying..

Those are wonderful! I'd probably not be able to ue such nice looking potholders either but if Mama Pea tells you to use them you better.

How lovely! With all she has going on I'm amazed that she finds time to make potholders. I'm going to have to work on my organization.

Sue-I'm with you. They are too beautiful to use. But I will come over and duly witness you using them just once. And then you can retire them and escape any wrath from MP.

Judy - Happy birthday! Just where is your usual hangout?

Mama Pea - Yes'm! I will, indeed show them in all their gory/er, glory in a week's time. I used them today, as a matter of fact - 'tho very gingerly.

Yvette - You know it - I have my marching orders.

Jane - Just looked and you are right!

Sparkless - Don't be fooled - under that bossy exterior (;0) lies a marshmallow softie.

Candy - As soon as I opened the envelope I knew - it was exciting!

Judy - I think she must average two hours' sleep a night. It would take me days to make ONE of these. What am I saying? I couldn't make one of these.

Melanie - Bear witness? Cool!

Mooberry Farmwife - Isn't she talented? I have them on a hook where I can just admire them. I did use them ONCE today, so I can say I did.

Lucky girl! I too would be tempted to display them instead of use them, but right now I have a shortage of pot holders so they would probably see action right away!

How wonderful. Since Halloween is my fav holiday ever, I'd use them for the season, then pack 'em away to brighten your day next year.
