My new wallet. And a muse.

If you think I have a hard time deciding on names for my goats, you should have seen me deciding on a new wallet.  It was a painful process.  It was more that I know what I DON'T like than what I do like.

Finally, weeks later, I have a new wallet:

Isn't it nice?  A Friend/Fellow Blogger was exceptionally kind and decided to brighten my day/life with a gift certificate to Etsy!  How fortuitous, this being the year of "I will buy as much handmade as humanly possible..."  I poured over the lovely handmade wallets forEVER, until I saw this one.  It is perfect and I love it!  And it's cute and pretty and extremely well-made.

It's the Holly Wallet by Sarah Schofield (HandsFullDesigns).  You should go check out her great stuff.  I have my eye on a couple of her bags as well.  Perfect summer fare!

Now I will think of my friend every time I look at it.  Which is almost every 10 minutes - just to make sure it's still there!

*********

I do believe you reach an age - whether you're a man or a woman - where the term "flattering shorts", becomes an oxymoron. And I believe I've reached that point.

The wallet looks great. I also like how it's made. Will have to visit Hands Full Designs. I am looking for a small wallet.

Michelle - I was surprised how expensive wallets were! I thought this one was reasonably priced, given the nice fabric (it's Scotchguarded, too) and excellent quality of the work. It's the best wallet I've ever had!

Very nice! I just made a similar style wallet out of duct tape! ;) She sews beautifully!

Patty - Duct tape! With your wallet and my apron, we could go into business!!! I'd be interested to see this duct tape wallet...

VERY pretty wallet. I'm always too cheap to buy a nice wallet. My current one was given to me by my MIL who got it as a "gift" from her gambling points (she lives in Vegas). I will use it until it falls apart. But when it does, I think I may have to take a lookie at the one you bought, it does seem very user friendly, and pretty to boot!

Such nice friends you have! My tummy still tries to knot up when I think about your wallet being stolen. Something like that seems like such a personal affront. I know it's not to the crumb-bum who took it, but that's my reaction.

What, may I ask, are you doing in shorts when your weather is still in the deep freeze? I feel like my body has undergone some weird changes this winter and I'm truly frightened to even think about "revealing" (as opposed to two layers of long underwear and a couple layers of wool and down on top of that) summer clothing.

DFW - I'm seriously thinking of the above-ankle skirt thing for summer. Cool. Covers.

Susan,

What a beautiful wallet, and it's handmade. I'm going to have to check out this site, I love the work she's put into this wallet.

Have you had any luck recovering any of your stuff from the wallet that was taken?

It's nice to have good friends :-)

I love that wallet. I try to buy homemade, handmade, or local as much as possible.

Cute wallet and how nice that your friend gave you the gift certificate! :)
Shorts on me...I don't THINK so!

That is really nice! Of course it would be Etsy, since no big manufacturer seems to be able to figure out what we need - can you tell I've been looking for a wallet for a long time too?! My kid make me a duct tape wallet that was kind of cute but still not the right size, I have to use it for awhile until he forgets about it LOL

Carolyn - I've almost always carried hand-me-downs. It is a very nice treat to have actually picked one out!

Mama Pea - I try not to think about the theft. I've been through burglaries, hold-ups and petty thefts in my life and they always leave me feeling equal parts frightened and angry. But most of all, violated. I can only hope the nimrod needed the lousy 22 bucks he got. I am only "thinking" of shorts. I never actually wear them. Talk about scary!

Sandy - She is definitely quite skilled. It is so professional! No sign of anything, unfortunately. I imagine it's in a landfill somewhere. Where it will pop up intact a century from now. I am very lucky to have such wonderful friends, believe you me.

Kristina - I really like Etsy, but it's sometimes too tempting, if you know what I mean. I try not to 'browse'.

Susan said...

Candy - Oh, yes. I think shorts are over-rated. I love the idea of an Etsy gift certificate. I think I might have to steal it for my own... :)

Erin - So how long is the memory span of this kid for gifts to mom? Can you just sort of sidle it out? Phase in something new? I bet you could whip out one of these beauties! Right. In your spare time.

I'll have to do a post! :) If I can get my camera to work...Congratulations on your new little goats, by the way! Great breed choice! ;) I'm not at all prejudice.
