Welcome to the Geriatric Corner

Well, two down and none to go!  I had the second hip replacement surgery on Tuesday and beat my own record by leaving the hospital before two p.m.  There's pain involved with this surgery - really, was it too much to ask for consistency??  But I am, once again, in the good and capable hands of my sisters.

The weather has been glorious, although a little rain would be welcome.  Sunshine and puffy clouds every day, with highs in the upper 70s.

Waiting at the train station for my
sister's train.
I'm taking the hip pain as a way to judge recovery and all I have to do is to be patient.  Ha.  Cindy is here until Sunday, when there is the changing of the guard.  I am doubly blessed.  The dogs are in heaven, having their aunties for two weeks.  The humming birds are back.  The lilac bushes are busting out all over.

The sisters are doing some planting for me, but the garden will have to start late this year.  We got basil and parsley in pots ("we", meaning I direct the action from inside) and I have two tomato plants and some Swiss chard to put in.  As frustrating as it is, I am glad it's over and I can concentrate on getting back to normal!

Sending lots of love and best of wishes for your very speedy recovery. I know it's what you want so that will definitely speed things along. The old saying that you can't keep a good (wo)man down definitely applies to you!

Congrats! All in all sounds like things are under control. Hubby and I have gone thru numerous stuff and it helps having someone there for sure! Good luck on your recovery!

Onward and forward to full mobility! I hope you do keep your doctor(s) informed about your pain level just in case it indicates a problem they need to address. Hugs and cheers!

Well, That was Quite a lot to go through in the last couple of months . Glad it's over for you. Do you have a Therapist come to help you get going again with exercise? You should have plenty of time to get the garden going again. It's wonderful your sisters are helping you out. You have a good family. Before you know it you'll be bouncing around!!! Take care!

Welcome back. I hope you are quickly recovered.

Be gentle with yourself. I have lost count of the times life has reared up and forced me to plant late. It all works out in the end.

Your lilacs are lovely. Ours are skimpy from being too dry at the wrong time. Beware the dogs trying to trip you up just to keep your sisters there longer. ;)

Ok ... you've been in the Geriatric Corner long enough and now it's time for an update on how you are doing!
It seems your 2nd hip replacement was a success and your sisters have helped during the rehab ... so how come you are still in the corner?
Did something go wrong with this surgery?
Anyway ... I hope you are doing well!
