Mom. 1923-2022. Still not long enough.

What a beauty.

Mom passed on to her next adventure on April 9th.  It was both expected and a shock.  The three of us are feeling rather untethered from reality at the moment, but we are so very lucky to have had so much time with her and to have so many wonderful memories.  And to have each other.

My favorite photo of the two of us.
Wish I could remember why we were laughing.

There's never enough time, no matter how long. Being an "orphan" takes some getting used to but it will happen as time passes. Just get through each day. My thoughts are with you and your sisters.

Even though it's expected, the shock comes from having to deal with the reality of it. My heartfelt sympathy to you, my friend, and your sisters. With their support, you won't be alone in this sad adjustment. You have hundreds of wonderful memories to keep your mom alive in your heart. Hugs.

You look so like the younger photo of her in the laughing photo! Untethered; that's a good description. With my birth dad, that untethering had some positives, as that wasn't the healthiest relationship. Not so with the pending good-bye with my step-dad. I'm so glad you have sisters; don't know what I would do without mine. (((HUGS)))

It is never easy to lose a parent, no matter how old (or young) we are. Peace be with you and your sisters on this journey.

My condolences on your great loss. I lost my mom three and a half years ago and the hole in my heart hasn't gone away though the edges of the hole have smoothed over a bit.

You are so fortunate to have such wonderful memories of your times together. It makes it harder to let go though. You are in my prayers. She was a beautiful woman and you look just like her. Hugs ~ Sam

A sad loss for you and your sisters. I sensed a great depth of character in your Mom from your stories. I can't spare you the sadness and sense of loss but one day it will be the good memories uppermost in your heart and mind.

I'm sorry for your loss. You are so lucky to have had a wonderful relationship with your mother. Not all of us did. I rarely even think about mine and can't even remember how long it's been since she died.

I'm so sorry for your loss but I understand. My mom passed away from Parkinson's disease and they think she was ready and I know that it was a peaceful transition. Lucky for you you did have so much time with her! Sending you a hug
