Cha-cha-changes!

What is that saying?  The only thing constant is change?  My little family is gearing up for a big one.  Due to lots of factors, The Sisters have decided that we should move north to the parental house in Vermont.  There is much to be done in order to get it ready to sell and we did not want to leave it vacant (even though my sister lives two houses away - another plus!).  As you can see, Officer Peanut is practicing neighborhood watch.  We had the occasion to stay overnight (sans Slimmie) and it was quite the experience.  If Slimmie wasn't such a siren in the car, we could ease our entire pack into the move, but it would be too traumatizing for all of us.

That said, I still have to deal with clearing out my house and selling it - and it's totally skewed my gardening efforts.  I opted for containers - I don't want to leave vege behind.  There is no set date at this point, but it will probably be towards the end of the summer.  With gas prices rising with no end in sight, I will not miss all of the driving.

Stay tuned.

Best of luck with the move.
Container gardening...very sensible in the circumstances

W-w-w-wow! Can't wait to hear more about it. Forget about the "normal" gardening for this season. You'll be MUCH to busy to even think about that small (haha) task. Growing what you can in containers is a really good idea. Anybody in the family got a pickup truck or trailer you could use for the great moving event which will probably go on most of the summer? That sure would be handy.

So this is just a temporary move until your parents' house is sold? What's the reference to selling your own house?

Like others, I have lots of questions! But what a scenic shot of Peanut on that lovely settee looking out on a gorgeous scene through that big picture window.

Big change indeed. so much for back to the earth home/farm steading. Good idea but takes more than one person. So you'll be moving into the family home instead of selling it. And you'll be close to the sisters. Even better.

We are in the same boat! I am trying to scale down so I can move up north and I still have lots of my parents "stuff", including furniture, that I need to get rid of. Peanut is so cute....they are great guard dogs...my little Annie was always watching for anything that moved! LOL!
It will be a lot of work but it will be wonderful to have you all together.

WWWWWhhhhaaaatttt!!!!! Not clear what happening here. Are you moving into your Mom's house? Wow, that is a big move. But your're right, the only constant thing is change. Good luck on your new adventure. It does sound exciting.

Yep! Moving is the BIG one! I remember our move about 6 years ago - and not fondly! It was a ton of work and like you I didn’t have anyone to share it with. My recommendation: pace yourself. Yes, get settled before next winter. But ... the end result is that you will be closer to family (sister?) and that is good - very good!

Look forward to hearing about it.

How long does it take to get to your sisters house to yours? Could you use a pick up and rent au haul? I know it’s a pain to move, but so very excited for you!
