2.17.2012.4.30.35

Yes, that's right.  On February 17th of 2012, at 4:30 in the morning, it is 35 degrees.  And raining.  Once more, I will have to haul my rain gear out of the closet, instead of snow gear.  It's downright weird and unnatural, I tell you.

One would think that, after six years of living on my side of the mountain, I would remember that rain on the west side/work side doesn't mean rain on the homestead side.  But noooooooo.  Another white knuckle ride over and down the mountain last night, as rain quickly turned to snow and fog.  By the time I pried my fingers off the steering wheel, I was in for the night.  Except for all the feeding, of course.

We got an entire inch of snow - which is now disappearing fast as the temperatures rise and the rain falls.  To all the snow enthusiasts out there, I apologize on behalf of The Snow Wolf and myself.  I know it's all our fault.

I will be so happy when this weird winter is done.
And I've done so many white-knuckle rides with my hubby--and there's another one in the near future as we careen down the mountains out west to see the grandson. No wonder my hair is white (underneath the Miss Clairol!)
Glad you made it home safely!

I'm glad your safe. I'd rather have 15 inches of snow than ice rain or fog. Winter lovers can blame me too. I just want this one over.

We left Illinois umpteen years ago because of the ice in winter. Now I think it's creeping northward trying to find us.

Before your last paragraph, I was going to remind you of your grand purchase for this winter - The Snow Wolf - and comment that it's force is mighty. You've scared away most of the snow across the whole darn country!

It has been raining here since at least 4:30 this morning which is a GOOD thing in the high desert!! :)
The power of the Snow Wolf is indeed strong!

Sue - Me, too. It's been such a non-winter that it should be over already! Be careful down the mountains, you two.

Rea - I really do miss the snow. This seems like an endless brown-ness.

Mama Pea - I know! The power of the Snow Wolf - it's a mighty thing!

Candy - I'm concerned about the lack of water, too. We had way too much last year, so I don't want that. I guess it's too much to ask for a normal year (whatever 'normal' is anymore).

I thought you were about to tell us you decided to play the lottery and you won with those numbers LOL! The weather is weird for sure, and we have snow in the forecast again in Virginia.... so strange!

White knuckles are why I don't drive in/on/over mountains. If any other season was being this weird I would call a do-over! But since it's winter, just wake me up when it's over :)
