We interrupt this weekend...

for a short, picture-filled post (!!!)

I found this in my mailbox - I presume Scrappy (aka Bert Lahr in a Dog Suit) snuck this in.  He's not so smart.  There wasn't a stamp on it.  Smarty-pants dogs.

My sister came for a short but sweet visit Monday night.

What do you give someone for Christmas when they have everything?  Why, a framed redwork  rendition (anatomically correct, no less) of a Tamworth boar.  Yes, I need to do more work on my lettering - but I like to think of it as "primitive".  That's still in vogue, right?

Some pics of the wind damage at my parents' house in Vermont.  It's quite a mess!

Good job on the boar. At least the trees fell away from the house. Have a Merry Christmas.

HA! Not only am I very impressed with the needle work, but I am super impressed that Scrappy can spell that well! Only Susan would have such literate pooches :)

Love your needlework and the letter from the critters cracked me up! What a mess from the storm. How did your place fare?

Animals leave you letters? Now THAT is awesome! What's also awesome is that those trees fell the "right way"...if there is a right way. I think the Boar is super awesome and I think if you can tell what the lettering says (which is more than my lettering would do) then you're on the right track.

Ah animals talking about food, no surprise. Everytmie I go in the kitchen my cat about tackles me- "feed me dammit, I'm starving!!!". Then I remind her she ate 15 minutes ago:)

Nice boar!

Scrappy knows how to leave notes of appreciation I see!!!!
You did a fabulous job on the boar for your sister.
Your parents weren't hurt during this storm I hope?
What a mess the storm left when blowing through.

I'm so confoosed. But I confoose easily. Aunt Jane brought (and, presumably, FED) the dogs sweet potatoes? Huh?

TL -Thank you. Yes, they were very lucky - it came dangerously close to their gazebo. Merry Christmas to you!

Jane - Me, too... :) Apparently, "he" couldn't even FORCE himself to misspell...

Thanks, Candy. Luckily, we were spared most of the damage, but surrounding areas were really hit hard.

MamaTea - That's a great way to look at it! Yes, they were lucky that nothing of value was damaged. It's just a big mess.

Nancy - It's the truth, isn't it? Scrappy could be hand-fed treats all day long. He'd even give up sleep if I kept it up. Food, food, food.

Sandy - Yes, they appreciate their Aunt Jane! And their Aunt Cynthia, and their Uncle Ron, and any other "relative" that gives them goodies. Me? I'm a slave-driving, treat-withholding tyrant.... :)

CM - Not to worry - Aunt Jane apparently ran into Santa, who told her that Scrappy & Bernice had asked for sweet potato treats (which the mean lady who lives with them does not buy). Then their very nice Aunt Jane put them in the USPS and voila! Christmas prayers answered! JUST before they fell over from starvation.....

Ahhhh. I got it now. ;) And thank GAWD the treats came before they fell over dead!!! (SUCH a mean lady they live with!) ;)

And, I forgot to mention that I, too, LOVE the needlework!!!! LOVE it! More, please! Etsy?
