This view.

Coming up to the crest of the plateau.

On the way down to home.
This is the only part of my daily commute that makes it all worthwhile.  I never get tired of this view - it almost doesn't look real.  This time of year, the mountains start to look like bright patchwork quilts, with their reds, oranges and yellows.  Even with the very dry year, there is still a lot of color.  Unfortunately, the leaves drop almost immediately, so it will be a very short and colorful season for the leaf-peepers.

Beautiful, although I wonder what it is like in winter.

Here in NE Iowa, it is approaching our peak. We are due to have a good bit of rain tomorrow and I fear it will be a short lived show here as well. I will never get tired of my view to work either, I get to cross the Mississippi River with the bluffs on the WI side just as amazing as the IA side each day....sigh - mother nature is a rock star (most days!)

Susan - what a beautiful view! here on our island we are famous for our beautiful drives through the fall with all of the different colours on the trees (check out the cabot trail)...but guess where there are only evergreens and pines? yep - in our small part of the island - bahahahah! your views are gorgeous and would make the trip to work and home worthwhile to me. thank you for sharing...i love to see other people's "homes".

sending love. your friend,

That is beautiful. I wish we had fall colors here! It just guts me that we don't. (The lack of cool weather guts me too. I LOVE wearing cozy sweaters).

Beth - I bet that is a breathtaking view. You're multi-statinal, too!

Kymber - but you have green year-round! xoxo

Debra - It is. And the photograph doesn't even do it justice.

Vera - That is exactly what it does.

Kristin - Oh, geez. I don't think I could go a year without a season of sweaters. Actually, we have two seasons of 'sweaters', come to think of it... :)
